Tomàs Cusiné dramatically changed the winemaking at his family’s iconic estate Castell del Remei when his family took over the estate in the 1980’s, leading the now famous estate into the world spotlight. Here, at his own estate, he is using these same progressive techniques, but with a very different microclimate.
'Over in the east in Costers del Segre near Barcelona, Tomàs Cusiné is something of a legend. He’s been involved in every serious wine project in the region for decades but has now struck out alone. He is a master-blender, crafting incredibly fresh wines by using a wide range of grape varieties and mixing up early picked fruit with riper, fruitier berries harvested later in the year.’
